training...

Sturt trains in a number of rescue fields. This occurs on Tuesday nights at our Local Headquarters from 7.30pm. As well as the weekly training, members have chosen to be involved in training fortnightly to improve their skills in Urban Search and Rescue (U.S.A.R.). Sturt also trys to conduct large exercises on weekends to simulate taskings which could not be completed in a small time frame.

Fire Bomber Training, Mt Compass Air Strip, 18th December 2005
Sturt has been involved with assisting CFS fill Fire Bomber aircraft for many years now. As times change and the need for a greater response arises, Sturt is now assisting with the training of other SES and CFS members in this area. A large group of volunteers gathered to train in safety around aircraft, and how to fill the planes. A Fire Bomber was also on hand to do live runs.
